How Our Process Works
Choose Joe’s Garage Coffee when you’d like to work with a sustainable partner. Our Keurig® pods are BPI® certified compostable and engineered to have a minimal impact on the planet. As our environmentally friendly pods naturally decompose, they return healthy nutrients to the soil.
Here’s a look at our process for roasting and packaging your coffee in Keurig-compatible compostable pods.
1. Choose Your Coffee Service
Choose your service level:
- Roast-to-order. We can create the perfect single-serve cups just for you from our inventory of available beans.
- Co-pack: Send us five pounds of roasted coffee and your optimal brewing instructions (coffee-to-water ratio), and we’ll directly co-pack your coffee into compostable cups for Keurig®.
- Toll-roast: Send five pounds of your green coffee and a recipe for roasting, including the coffee’s region and grade, drop time and temperature, and roast color number.
Want to benchmark a competitor’s coffee? No problem — simply send us samples and our sensory panel will match it.
2. Let Us Create In-House Samples
We’ll then create in-house samples to match your specified roast, taste, and brew profiles. Our sensory panel will determine the taste, quality, and extraction levels, making recommendations as necessary. We use standard Specialty Coffee Association cupping protocols for all of our sampling.
3. Give Feedback on Coffee Samples
Once our sensory panel has approved the best possible product, we will send you samples so you can taste them and provide any additional feedback. When it’s time to package your compostable cups for Keurig®, we will lock in your approved specifications and create a delicious new product you’ll be proud to showcase as your own.
