Our Streamlined Process
Whether you send us your roasted coffee or have us roast your green beans, we’re dedicated to delivering the most flavorful and fresh coffee that strictly adheres to your desired flavor profiles. For every batch we roast and package, we use our modern facility, featuring only the best and latest industry tools and machinery available, to achieve our customer’s high standards. Before packaging your coffee, our team first creates samples of your product to achieve the perfect flavor profiles. During this process, we can begin with your roasted or green beans. You can also choose coffee from our inventory of available beans procured from all around the world. Here is how the process works, from inquiry to order fulfillment.1. Choose Your Coffee Service
Joe’s Garage Coffee offers three service levels for branded coffee bags:- Roast-to-order. Our roast-to-order service will make the perfect coffee for your brand. Our coffee bean inventory includes varieties from around the world to achieve the flavor and quality you have in mind.
- Co-pack. Our co-packaging service starts when you send us five pounds of roasted coffee and your optimal brewing instructions, like the coffee-to-water ratio. We’ll directly co-pack your coffee into branded coffee bags or portion packs.
- Toll-roast. With toll roasting, send five pounds of your green coffee and a recipe for roasting, including the coffee’s region and grade, drop time and temperature, and roast color number.
2. Let Us Create In-House Coffee Samples
Once we’ve established the ideal service for you, we’ll create samples in our facility, following your preferences for brew, taste, and roast. Our sensory panel will calculate the right extraction levels, quality, and taste for your coffee and pass these recommendations along. We use cupping protocols set by the Specialty Coffee Association for our sampling procedures.3. Adjust the Flavor Profile
After our sensory panel is satisfied with the quality of the product, we’ll send you coffee samples so you can taste them and provide feedback. When we’ve collaboratively perfected your coffee’s flavor profile, we’ll use these standards to create a product you’ll be proud to offer your customers. Once you’re confident that your coffee product is perfect, you can expect your standard reorder to arrive in only three weeks. For custom-printed materials, it may take up to six weeks to make sure your coffee order gets the highest quality printing possible. To further showcase your brand and taste, we offer a variety of custom and generic bag types and sizes.Crafting Your Custom Coffee Bags
First impressions impact every part of your business. You can’t do them over again, and they set the groundwork for your business’s relationship going forward. Packaging is the branding equivalent of a first impression. Your product’s packaging determines its first impression with potential customers. It makes no difference whether your product waits for customers on a shelf at a grocer’s or gets handed out at a brand launch event. The packaging needs to convince the customer of the quality of the product sealed inside. In this guide, we’ll discuss how creating custom coffee bags is a great way to make a strong first impression and walk you through each step of the process. Why Invest in Custom Coffee Packaging?
Creating your own custom coffee bags contributes to the user’s experience of the coffee itself. Consider how you want your customers to encounter your product. Here are a few reasons why custom-printed coffee bags are the right way to go:- Increase brand recognition. When custom-printed coffee bags hold your coffee, you let the consumer know that thought, time, and care went into the blend. Cultivate a design that stands out and shows off your company’s personality.
- Expand your coffee brand. Once you’ve established your brand, you can create even more custom coffee bags for new product lines. If you have a new idea for a coffee blend or want to create some seasonal offerings, you can continue to cohesively build your brand.
- Offer your customers increased convenience. Paying special attention to how you present your coffee will help consumers enjoy it in whichever way works best for them. Offering cups for Keurig®, pods for Nespresso®, coffee portion packs, or wholesale and retail bags gives them a chance to continue making coffee the way they already do, but with your particular blend.
- Give your product clarity. When you design your coffee packaging bags, you can give exact instructions about the best way to prepare your coffee. Giving guidance on the precise water-to-coffee ratio and suggestions for the brewing process helps consumers enjoy the product the way you intended. This clarity gives them the best chance to taste the coffee under ideal conditions — as though you made it for them yourself.
- Launch a new store brand. Sometimes, you decide to branch off from your current offerings to create a new blend of coffee to add to your beverage offerings. Carry over elements of your branding and incorporate those elements into the bags you plan to sell online or in stores.
- Expand your current offerings. If you already have an established brand and want to add signature coffee to the mix, continue your current brand with your new blend. When you add coffee to your product line, you expand your market for two reasons: You give your current customers another product to enjoy, and when coffee drinkers find your coffee, they also get introduced to your brand.
- Enhance Your Office Experience with Premium Coffee. As an Office Manager, you understand the importance of creating a welcoming and productive environment for your in-office employees. Providing high-quality coffee in the office, breakroom, and canteen is a simple yet effective way to show your appreciation. Custom coffee bags can add a personal touch, demonstrating your commitment to employee satisfaction. This thoughtful perk will be appreciated and contribute to a positive work environment and increase employee retention.
- Create a limited promotional item. When you develop a limited-edition line of a new coffee blend, you need the brew to stand out on the shelves. Catch your potential consumer’s attention with a bag that continues your current branding and matches the quality of the brew inside.
- Thank your clients for their patronage. In business, it’s vital to treat your clients with respect and kindness. Remind them how grateful you are for their support and trust with a portion pack of coffee or limited edition single-serve cups to thank them for their business. When they display the coffee in their company kitchen or break room, every time someone goes to enjoy that coffee, they are reminded of exactly who gave it to them.
Steps to Create Your Own Custom Coffee Bags
Designing your own coffee bag might sound daunting, but thankfully, it doesn’t take much when you partner with us. When getting private-label coffee bags from Joe’s Garage Coffee, there are only a few things we need to know before we start working to give you the customized bags and portion packs your coffee deserves.
1. Identify Your Coffee Service Needs
Our team will discuss your needs with you to establish your goals and requirements for your coffee product. We offer a variety of services to best fit your current coffee needs, like:
If you’re bringing your own beans to the table, and you want us to help refine the taste and develop the packaging, we’re ready to help you get started in the co-packaging process. We’re the perfect addition to your team because we live and breathe your brand — and all things coffee.
2. Choose the Right Packaging Type
We offer multiple packaging options, so you can pick what’s right for your mission and your clients’ and consumers’ needs. Our packaging options include:
- Retail or wholesale bags
- Portion packs
- Cups for Keurig
- Pods for Nespresso
- One-cup filter pods
We specifically engineer each of these packaging methods to maintain the highest level of freshness possible, so the roast maintains its quality on its way to customers.
3. Use Our Expertise to Hone the Flavor Profile
We have an in-house sensory panel to help refine the recipe you give us based on the flavor profile you want to achieve. They judge the excellence of the brew based on extraction levels, taste, and quality. They contact you with their recommendations, so you can collaborate on the final taste.
4. Collaborate with Us to Finalize Your Customized Design
After the panel approves the packaging and taste of the final product, we send free samples back for you to taste and enjoy, so you can offer feedback on how we can improve the brew’s packaging and flavor.
Once we both agree that we honed the best possible product, we set the specifications with your approval and create a product you can serve with pride. Since our minimum order quantity starts at only 100 pounds, we can accommodate any of your packaging needs.
